Sales Administrator – Gateshead

At Northern Balance we are looking to expand our team and require motivated, professional people to deliver expert advice with first-class service and support every time.

We are proud to be the leading UKAS accredited weighing specialists in the North of England. Our skilled team are trained in all aspects of weighing technology. Our work covers the supply, service, calibration and repair of balances and scales from analytical balances through to industrial check-weighers and everything in between. We undertake regular training to keep product knowledge and technical abilities up to date.

This new team-member will be based at the business HQ in Team Valley. The role will support the existing sales activities of the business with a focus on sales administration, order processing and preparing quotations. This position is ideal for someone who has very good organisational skills, time management, a keen eye for detail and most importantly a team player.

Sales Administrator Role & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Sales Team to implement the company’s sales strategy in order to achieve company objectives
  • Prepare quotations for customers using a defined sales process for monthly and ad hoc service work, preventative maintenance plans, spare parts, call outs and repairs based on information provided by the Northern Balance Service Centre or Sales teams and provide these either directly to customers or to the Sales team where appropriate, including liaising professionally with suppliers when required.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing customers taking a consultative approach that focuses on their needs.
  • Proactively contact customers to secure purchase order numbers where appropriate
  • Promptly react to any queries received making the appropriate member of the Sales team aware of each query.
  • Manage the incoming sales@ inbox, making the appropriate Sales team member aware of pertinent emails.
  • Manage the orders@ inbox according to a defined procedure to ensure all orders are processed correctly and contacting the appropriate departments to ensure the requirements of each customer’s orders are fulfilled.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity & customer communication using the appropriate internal systems
  • Build and maintain a collaborative and constructive working relationships with colleagues
  • Assist in the administrative activities required to run the office efficiently including answering incoming calls appropriately
  • Data entry of key operational information
  • Ensure records are filed correctly on our electronic systems
  • Generate customer delivery notes as required
  • Ensure individual key performance indicators are met
